Welcome to ENLIGHTENMENT Trivia, in which you play a thematic game each time, and also play for a great cause.

This month, it’s all about food, glorious food. With Thanksgiving near and other holiday feasts and parties after that, let’s see how much you know about food in history, geography, science, sports and even Top 10 musical hits.

The great cause you’ll be supporting is River City Food Bank, which alleviates hunger in Sacramento County by providing healthy, nutritious food to anyone in need. Last year, River City Food Bank provided nearly 3.2 million pounds of healthy food to 326,197 people.

For tonight’s trivia, River City requests that you don’t bring canned food, bring money instead. It has prepared a shopping list of items it needs to serve nutritious meals for the holidays, and your donations will go a lot farther that way in giving more people a delicious Thanksgiving dinner.

The registration fee to play is $10, with all proceeds going to River City Food Bank. You can pay in advance and/or or donate directly to the food bank.

Food-themed prizes go to the top winners, including gift cards to Nugget Market and Corti Brothers.

Teams of up to 6 people. And don’t worry about coming solo — we’ll pair you with other people to make up a great team.

There will be light refreshments, but feel free to BYO.
