The wine industry is in a crisis, so what are some of the ways — and wines — that can help it rebound?

I’ve put that question to a few wine experts around town, asking them if they could create a special “Future of Wine” tasting as an ENLIGHTENMENT salon talk. They choose a variety of wines they believe reflect where wine is (or should be) going, we’ll taste them, and then we’ll all talk.

After a great kickoff tasting last month at ALMA in downtown Sacramento, we’re now headed to a cozy, upstairs hideaway in downtown Roseville named Le Tesh Wine Lounge. It was founded last summer by sommelier Amitesh “Tesh” Diyal who offers dry humor, good conversation and great wines.

While Tesh has developed award-winning wine programs for Sacramento’s most prestigious restaurants (including Ella and The Kitchen), his new place offers a relaxed vibe and no pretense.

Tesh has accepted my challenge to show us the Future of Wine in a few glasses, and he is looking forward to explaining his picks and talking them out with us.

The tasting is $35, with an advance $10 deposit to reserve your seat (it will be refunded to you on the evening of the wine tasting.)
