Hi, this is Vanessa, your ENLIGHTENMENT salon host.
With skyrocketing gas prices, I’m looking more at the bus and light rail as regular modes of transit around town. Are you doing the same?
Now is a great time to take a closer look, because Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT for short) is about to reveal its SacRT 2050 Initiative, a bold 25-year blueprint to completely rethink local mobility. The department is taking a fresh look at its service offerings and how to create a safe, efficient, and sustainable transit system that works for the rapidly changing Sacramento region.
Join me for a forward-thinking conversation with Anthony Adams, Sac RT’s director of planning, about how we move through the Capital Region. We’ll look at issues like:
mega projects on the horizon (e.g., light rail modernization, an expansion to the airport, high-capacity priority bus corridors)
tech-driven equity, like EV carsharing and microtransit in underserved neighborhoods
the realities of creating transit-oriented housing in a state with a high cost of living and a preference for single-family homes
Bring your questions for Anthony (nothing is too small or dumb to ask) and actively share your voice to shape our city's transit future.
Tickets are $10 general admission, $5 for students. There’ll be some drinks and snacks, and please feel free to BYO.
