Welcome to ENLIGHTENMENT Trivia, in which you play a thematic game each time, and also play for a great cause.

This month, it’s all about Dolly Parton, the Queen of Country, America’s greatest uniter, and one of our best cultural, philanthropical and feminist icons.

The great cause you’ll be supporting is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a book-gifting program that mails free books every month to children from ages 0-5 until they begin school in the U.S., the UK, Canada and Australia.

She launched it 30 years ago to honor her father, whose tough Appalachian upbringing never allowed him to finish school or learn to read and write. "He was the smartest man I have ever known, but I know in my heart his inability to read probably kept him from fulfilling all of his dreams," Parton wrote on Imagination Library's website. "Inspiring kids to love to read became my mission."

The Imagination Library has mailed out 300 million books to date and even though Dolly is no longer with us, she said she wants the books to keep on going out to children around the world

Registration fee to play is $10, with all proceeds going to the Imagination Library to purchase more books. .

Prizes — including gift cards for line-dancing lessons at Stoney’s Rocking Rodeo — go to the top winners.

Teams of up to 6 people. And don’t worry about coming solo — we’ll pair you with other people to make up a great team.

There will be drinks and snacks, but please feel free to BYO.
